Plymouth kids win JuJitsu championship

Aisha Barwick aged 11 was invited to Bristol to compete in the British MMA youth and cadet championships along with her team mate Rocco Riccobono aged 10.

Aisha won her debut MMA fight in the second round with an arm bar submission against a tough competitor. Rocco won his fight on the referees decision.

The pair compete all over the country in Brazilian Jujitsu and have had a run of successful wins over the last year.

Aisha’s Dad Scott said “I’m really proud of Aisha and I know she is equally proud of herself, as she worked really hard to train for this event. I would recommend this discipline to any parent wanting to build confidence and fitness for their children.”

Aisha and Rocco train out of Hybrid combat Gym, Plymouth covering all aspects of mixed martial arts under coaches Nico Romans and Dino Ricobonno.
