Warning! Tamar Bridge works will cause A38 delays

Drivers needing to cross the Tamar Bridge on their Plymouth-bound journeys today and tomorrow (30 and 31.05.2019) have been warned to allow extra time as works on the bridge are expected to cause delays.

Tamar Crossings has announced there will be engineering works being carried out in the Toll Booth Lanes, between 9.30am and 3.30pm, today and tomorrow.

In a brief tweet sent out this morning, the bridge's management authority has told motorists: "Bridge: 08:00. Engineering works in Toll Booth Lanes from 9:30 am - 3:30pm today, Thursday 30th May and Friday 31st May. Please allow extra time for your journey."

Traffic on the bridge was particularly bad last Friday and Saturday, when many people were visiting Cornwall for the bank holiday and school break. It is expected to be busy this weekend as well as the holiday makers will bereturning home.
